Captured: Baseball comes back, outlasts UIC in 12-11 win – The Daily Northwestern

After Northwestern gave up two home runs and went down 7-0 in the top of the first inning to UIC, the Wildcats (14-18-1, 5-10 Big Ten) rallied to pull off a 12-11 victory. Senior outfielder Jack Lausch led the way for NU with a solo home run and a triple, bringing in three RBIs on the day. Graduate student right-handed pitcher Sam Hliboki threw 6.1 scoreless innings before giving up four runs across the eighth and ninth innings, where sophomore left-handed pitcher Alex Grant took over and closed the game out for the ’Cats.
