Convenience-store veteran Furnell Mackey (pictured left) is now a director of operations at Lawrenceville Georgia-based Majors Management, according to his LinkedIn page.
Mackey left Temple, Texas-based CEFCO Convenience Stores this month after nearly seven years. He was a category marketing manager. Mackey is a dispensed beverages (large chain) finalist in CSP’s2025 Category Manager of the Year Awards.
Prior to that, Mackey was director of operations at LA Truck Stop and Gaming, Saint Rose, Louisiana, for about four and one-half years. Before that, he was a district manager at Murphy USA, El Dorado, Arkansas.
His new title on his LinkedIn page reads “Director of Operations, Sales Management, P&L Management.”
Mackey, pictured above with Zach Treinen of Stinker Stores at CSP’s 2024 C-Store Foodservice Forum in June 2024, earned an MBA from Western Governors University in Millcreek, Utah. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
On Nov. 1, Casey’s completed the $1.145 billion acquisition of Temple, Texas-based Fikes Wholesale Inc., acquiring 198 CEFCO c-stores. The acquisition gives the retailer 148 additional locations in Texas, a highly strategic market for Casey’s, as well as 50 stores in the Southeast, including 27 in Alabama, 13 in Florida and 10 in Mississippi.
Majors Management is an owner, developer and operator of convenience stores and a distributor of branded and unbranded motor fuels. Majors and its affiliates supply fuel to more than 1,400 convenience store locations in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, North Carolina, Mississippi, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.
In 2023, Majors Management LLC, completed a significant transaction with Santiago, Chile-based Compania de Petroleos de Chile (COPEC), purchasing 192 MAPCO-branded convenience stores in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Arkansas and Kentucky. The acquisition also included MAPCO’s wholesale fuel division, loyalty program, brand and other intellectual property.
