The 2025 WNBA playoffs are on the horizon and the defending champs are not favored to win it all again.

After claiming their first-ever championship in 2024, the New York Liberty opened this season as favorites at +230 to repeat, but now they’re second on the board. 

Let’s look at the title odds at BetMGM Sportsbook as of Sept. 11.

New York Liberty: +350 (bet $10 to win $45 total)
Las Vegas Aces: +350 (bet $10 to win $45 total)
Atlanta Dream: +800 (bet $10 to win $90 total)
Phoenix Mercury: +1600 (bet $10 to win $170 total)
Seattle Storm: +4000 (bet $10 to win $410 total)
Golden State Valkyries: +12500 (bet $10 to win $1,260 total)
Indiana Fever: +20000 (bet $10 to win $2,010 total)
Los Angeles Sparks: +75000 (bet $10 to win $7,510 total)

Minnesota has won three of its last five games, including a close 78-72 win over Golden State on Sept. 6. The Lynx are currently 33-10, the best record in the W. Their odds have shortened from +150 over the last month.

Second on the board are the Liberty, who’ve lengthened to +350 from +160. They’re 26-17 and have the fifth-best record in the league. Sabrina Ionescu continues to lead the team in scoring (18.4 points per game) and in rebounding (4.9 rebounds per game).

New York had an outstanding regular season last year, tying a franchise record with 32 wins, securing the No. 1 seed in the playoffs and ultimately winning its first WNBA title. It went 32-8 in each of the past two seasons. 

Tied with the Liberty at +350 are the Aces. 

At 29-14, Las Vegas has the third-best record in the WNBA and have surged from +1800 to win it all since the beginning of August. Another market to watch is WNBA MVP, as Aces star center A’ja Wilson is at the top of the MVP oddsboard.
