Hey Chicago! How’d you enjoy last week’s 90 degree weather? I completely hibernated and did nothing. I can take the heat but mix in the humidity and I get constant headaches. The weather has cooled down a tiny bit though and I’m back with my #SummertimeCHI weekly updates!
I go to a lot of events and with summer here I’m out in these streets. I’m constantly throwing things around my room trying to find something to wear, rushing in the bathroom getting my hair and face ready, and don’t get me started trying to grab a quick snack as I head out the door. With all of that do I tidy up… sadly no and my house needed some extra helping hands. I’ve used Val’s Services Cleaning in the past and they do a terrific job. I even walked in on the cleaning lady in the kitchen wiping off door knobs. They make sure every inch of your spot is squeaky clean. I normally get the super deep cleaning. For a limited time if you want to try them for yourself use promo code: TAVI10 for 10% off.
One of my FAVORITE festivals was back for the 13th year. Windy City Smokeout was here July 8th – July 12th. The premier country music and bbq fest is sponsored by Lettuce Entertain You restaurants. This year the festival was five full days of 24 artists and 22 Pitmasters. I was super excited to see Hootie & the Blowfish perform on Thursday night. My favorite bites would have to be the Smoked Beef Cheek Poutine fries from Hoodoo Brown Barbeque and the Hot Honey Smoke Cream Cheese and & Crackers from Blake’s at Southern Milling. Trust me… even if you don’t like country music go. It’s a super fun festival!
I can’t believe it’s the 46th year for the Taste of Chicago. Chicago’s legendary food festival returned to Grant Park with five days of free concerts, diverse local cuisine and family-friendly programming along the iconic lakefront.
The world’s largest free-admission food festivals, July 8–12 for an expanded five-day celebration bringing residents and visitors together through acclaimed cuisine, live music and Chicago pride. From beloved neighborhood restaurants and emerging chefs to performances by globally recognized artists and family-friendly programming along the city’s iconic lakefront, Taste of Chicago 2026 will showcase the cultural diversity and creative energy that continue to make Chicago a premier culinary destination.
I went to see legendary R&B singer, songwriter and producer Babyface and he performed his greatest hits. AND of course the food was AMAZING! If you get a chance head by the Taste of ChicagoTaste of Chicago. Today (July 12th) is the last day.
