Chicago State University volleyball standout Patrycja Lagida has been named American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Midwest Region Honorable Mention, as announced by the AVCA. This prestigious accolade caps a record-setting 2024 season for Lagida and the Cougars.
Lagida, a dynamic sophomore outside hitter from Chotomow, Poland, becomes the second Chicago State volleyball player to earn AVCA recognition. Yanlis Feliz was selected as a Division I All-America honorable mention in 2021. Lagida’s distinction highlights her exceptional performance and contributions to the Cougars historic season.
A dominant force on the court, Lagida was named the 2024 Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Year, NEC First Team All-Conference and NEC Tournament MVP. Her efforts helped lead Chicago State to a 19-10 record, the most single-season wins in program history, as well as regular-season and NEC Tournament championships. The Cougars finished conference play with a 13-1 record and recorded 10 three-set sweeps, winning 45 of the 54 sets played in NEC competition.
“This is an incredible honor for Patrycja and a testament to her hard work and dedication,” said Chicago State Head Coach Tony Trifonov. “She has been a game-changer for our team all season, and this recognition by the AVCA is a reflection of that hard work.”
