Benefits of epsom salts

A hot bath is a great way to increase your circulation and can help with many things. Adding epsom salt to your bath allows you skin to soak in and absorb some extra benefits. Epsom Salts are special because they release magnesium and sulfate into the bath. Magnesium is valued as a muscle relaxant and for its anti inflammatory effects. The sulfate component of Epsom Salts is good for detox, and according to Paramount Health, “helps in drawing the heavy metals and toxins out of your body.” Magnesium sulfate is great for relieving muscle aches.

Epsom salt is wonderful at drawing toxins out of the body so this is one reason that at these DIY bath salts are great for colds and preventing colds. As Nutritional Outlook says, “Helping the body detoxify and cleanse can be key to developing and maintaining an optimal immune system.” Your body also gets the opportunity to absorb the magnesium in the bath while soaking. This is great for helping the body destress which is important because stress is has a negative effect on the immune system.

You may use Dead Sea salt, Himalayan salt, or sea salt as a substitute but my favorite is epsom salt for the reasons I mentioned.
