CHICAGO (WLS) — A drive-by shooter killed a man who was sitting inside his South Side home on Saturday morning, Chicago police said.

Police said the shooting happened in the Englewood neighborhood’s 5700-block of South May Street just after 5 a.m.

Someone inside a grey sedan opened fire, striking the 45-year-old victim in the head, police said.

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. His identity was not immediately released.

Police said the sedan’s driver fled the scene northbound on May Street.

Area One detectives are investigating. Authorities did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
