Covered in a punchy au poivre sauce, Good Days’ $32 steak frites makes this Williamsburg restaurant a great option for a casual date or meaty weeknight meal. In the shadow of the bridge, it’s a cute spot with nautical decor and a low-ceilinged bar, where you can drink a martini so dirty it has hot pepper brine in it, or some natural wine. A candlelit dining room leads out to a big outdoor space covered with parasols that makes us wish we lived in LA. There’s both bocadillo and bucatini on the menu, among other dressy versions of crowdpleasing dishes. For an appetizer before that rosy, perfectly tender steak, try the gooey fontina croquettes dusted in scallion powder for a sour cream-and-onion vibe. Or some shrimp cocktail with some really good burnt onion dijonnaise.
