In 2004, Dr. Jeffrey Melby decided to open his own chiropractic business.
“I wanted to create a practice that helps people live pain-free, active lives without relying on medication or surgery,” he said. “Seeing patients return to doing what they love — whether that’s sports, family activities, or travel — is what drives me every day.”
Some 21 years later, Melby Chiropractic is still going strong and is having new offices built at The Fields.
The business’ new home 2401 Fields South Drive in Champaign is expected to be complete by May 2026 and will mark the chiropractic office’s third relocation since 2004, Melby said.
“Over the past several years, our practice has grown significantly,” he said. “We’ve expanded our team, added new technologies, and wanted a space that better reflects the level of care we deliver. The Fields development gives us the opportunity to create a modern, purpose-built environment designed specifically for patient comfort and efficiency.”
Melby Chiropractic is currently located at 314 S. Neil St. The new location at The Fields will feature “contemporary design,” more treatment rooms, advanced technologies, and “improved parking and accessibility,” Melby said.
In addition to continuing its current services — which include SoftWave and red light therapies — the company plans to expand its offerings at the new site.
“We’ll also be adding spinal decompression using the DRX9000 — an FDA-cleared system designed to help retract bulging or herniated discs that can cause pain such as sciatica,” Melby said. “The new facility is designed to elevate the patient experience and support our mission to help active professionals overcome pain and experience life.”

Annual benefit includes chance to win coveted Polar Express tickets
The Monticello chapter of P.E.O., a Philanthropic Educational Organization, will host its 10th annual Dollars for Scholars Holiday Bazaar and Silent Auction from 2 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 2.
The event, which will be held at Monticello Middle School, is set to feature over 20 local vendors offering items such as holiday gifts, decor and food. The silent auction will include handmade items from local artisans, baked goods and gift baskets.
There will also be a special raffle for four Polar Express train tickets, and another four will be available during the silent auction.
The Monticello Railway Museum’s Polar Express train ride runs for four weekends in November and early December. According to the museum, coach tickets for the “overwhelmingly popular event” typically sell out in under 10 minutes.
The raffle winner will be drawn at 3 p.m. during the bazaar.
“Funds raised through the event support P.E.O.’s mission to empower women and families,” organizers said. “Each year, the chapter awards a local scholarship to a graduating high school senior girl, and provides support to women through scholarships, grants, and low-interest loans for higher education. The chapter also assists local families in need.”
Admission to the event is free.
