WILLMAR — The Mason City Toros cruised to a 7-1 NA3HL victory over the Willmar WarHawks before 450 fans Saturday at the Willmar Civic Center Arena.
Mason City scored three first-period goals, then gave up a goal to the WarHawks’ Lucas Thelen at 9:48 of the second period before scoring the next four goals, including three in the third period.
Thelen scored on the power play, getting assists from Kaiden Jackson and Max Jackson. Thelen is a defenseman from West Bend, Wisconsin.
Willmar plays the Peoria Mustangs at 7 p.m. Friday at the Owens Center in Peoria, Illinois.
