CHICAGO (WLS) — A man is dead and two women were hospitalized after a fire broke out at a South Side home on Friday morning, Chicago police said.

Officers responded to the Englewood neighborhood’s 500-block of West 66th Street just before 7:30 a.m.

A 55-year-old man was transported to St. Bernard’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

He was identified as Donaver Jones. He lived in the same block where the fire took place.

Two women, a 19-year-old and an 81-year-old, were taken to Holy Cross Hospital in fair condition.

Police said no displacements or other injuries were reported.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire and did not immediately provide additional information.
