Illinois Supreme Court Justice Lisa Holder White will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Breakfast. White, the first Black woman to serve on the court, was appointed in 2022 and then won election in 2024. This year’s event, organized by the Frontiers International Springfield Club, is marking its 50th anniversary. White will share her experiences and visions for the future with a focus on how Dr. King’s life and beliefs have impacted today’s world. “It is important to remember that the core purpose of this annual event is to foster and promote racial harmony by bringing together diverse ethnic groups from the Springfield metro area to fellowship, celebrate and keep the King dream alive,” said Allan Woodson, chair of the event.
