Meek Mill is clearing the air for what feels like the hundredth time after that bunny hop clip started making rounds again. The Philadelphia rapper says the viral moment has been twisted into something it never was, and he is tired of watching people run with a narrative that paints him out of character.

The video, which first surfaced in 2021, shows Meek hopping across a tennis court after losing a friendly match to Michael Rubin. While some people saw it as playful competition, others tried to frame it as something deeper. So Meek jumped on Twitter to set it straight.

“They clipped me doing bunny hops and acted as if a billionaire made me do something against [my] moral codes from a lost bet,” he wrote. “That was a ‘clip.’ I bought them billionaires around the culture where millions was made in the rap industry many artist that’s the clip.”

He did not stop there. Meek also called out what he believes is a bigger play behind resurfacing the footage.

“They do it for your future consumer like Gen Z… they didn’t grow up on one, so they wouldn’t know the difference, so you won’t keep gaining influence!”

For context, Meek has previously said the bunny hops were part of competitive games long before fame. In 2024, he explained, “We used to make killers do bunny hops when they loss because it was too hostile for money.”

At this point, Meek is standing firm. To him, it was friendly competition, not humiliation. The internet might joke, but he is making it clear he sees something else behind the reposts.
