Downtown Evanston partnered with Evanston Professional Moms to present a Sip + Stroll on Thursday night, offering residents and visitors a chance to explore downtown Evanston while visiting local businesses. Twenty-two participating businesses welcomed more than 250 attendees with sips of wine, assorted nonalcoholic drinks, small bites and sweet treats, said Andy Vick, executive director of Downtown Evanston.

Participants were asked to register for the free event, which included the option for free childcare at the Life Time Evanston health club from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Check-in locations for Sip + Stroll were Life Time Evanston, at 1608 Sherman Ave., and Bella Otér, at 1017 Davis St., where maps of participating businesses were provided.

A suggested donation of $10 at check-in benefitted Kitchen to Community, a youth-centered nonprofit founded by Chef Nicole Henry, owner of Chicky’s Kitchen Creations at The Aux.

An hour into the event, participants Dale and Tracy Bradley were on Davis Street, at Table to Stix, where they enjoyed tastes of sake, gyoza and Brussels sprouts.

“We’ve been to three spots so far, and it’s been a lot of fun,” Dale said. “The Sip and Stroll is really nice,” added Tracy, who said that guests also received small bouquets of fresh flowers on Thursday at the popular eatery.

The next stop on the map was Title Boxing Club Evanston, at 1029 Davis, where boxing coach and marketing coordinator Josie Provencher offered participants healthy snacks and promotional cards to enjoy a free week of classes at the club. “We welcome everybody — if you have a lot of experience or if you have no experience,” Provencher said.
Sip + Stroll presenting partner, Evanston Professional Moms, is a chapter of The Professional Moms Community Network, with more than 700 professional women, entrepreneurs and business owners. The group empowers women through connection and community engagement, fostering a sisterhood of collaboration and common good.
