My All-Time Favorite, Wildly Expensive, Disney World Hotel Is on Sale for the Holidays

My All-Time Favorite, Wildly Expensive, Disney World Hotel Is on Sale for the Holidays

Close your eyes and picture this: You wake up in your Disney hotel room in your pajamas, look out the window, and see Cinderella Castle in the distance. You put on your matching family shirts and head downstairs to catch a monorail to the best park at Disney World. As you pass by an incredible gingerbread display, you’re transported to The Most Magical Place on Earth.

Christmas at Disney World

Now, what if I told you that this dream could happen with a discount?

Disney World is currently running a promotion where you can save up to 20% on rooms at select hotels and receive a gift card of up to $100. The deal runs most stays from Sunday to Thursday from October 12th to November 20th, and then from November 23rd to December 25th. This opens the door to having the most magical holiday of all time.

Contemporary Resort

If I were using the discount (and I just found the perfect staycation), I know exactly what I’d do. As a Disney World local and a writer for Disney Food Blog, I’ve been to lots of different hotels, restaurants, and everything in between, and I am pretty opinionated about the best Disney vacation possible.

Want to know my dream vacation? Get ready because you’re going to want to book your trip immediately after hearing this.

First off, we’re staying in the Contemporary. From fond childhood memories to some of the best restaurants on property, there’s no way I’m staying anywhere else.

The Monorail INSIDE Contemporary Resort

I would request a room facing the parks so I can see the castle and the fireworks during my stay, because what’s a trip to Disney World without fireworks?

Theme park view

And the theme of the Contemporary? Incredible! Literally. I love all the subtle Incredibles details around the room, plus the monorail hidden in the lampshades and mirrors. It’s also the coolest resort because the monorail goes THROUGH the building.

Hidden details

Typically, for four nights and five days in a theme park view room in the central tower, you’re looking at about $5,200 during the holidays. Oof. That’s a price tag! With 20% off, I can get it for around $4,100, and since the room sleeps four, I’m inviting my three besties to join me on the vacation. About $1,000 per person for an almost week-long vacation? SAY LESS!

Who’s coming with me?

I would love to stay during Christmastime because there is a giant Christmas tree outside the building that feels like it’s welcoming you into the season. They even have a unique gingerbread display that looks like the castle, and yes, you can see it from the monorail.

It’s made of gingerbread!

Let’s not forget my $100 Disney gift card! As soon as I saw that as a perk, I knew where I was going: Steakhouse 71! It’s my favorite restaurant across all Disney properties, and whether you go for breakfast or dinner, you’re in for a treat. I like to start with a drink at the lounge and then order way too many appetizers.

Steakhouse 71

If I’m going for breakfast, I will always order the Bacon and Cheddar Grits. For dinner, I’m getting a side of Smoked Cheese Grits. I can’t tell you why, but Steakhouse 71 has the best, creamiest, saltiest grits on property, and even writing this now makes me want to book a reservation.

GRITS!!!

Ah, what a dream come true. This is my dream vacation, but what’s yours? Tell us in the comments which resort you would stay at for the trip of a lifetime.
