Chicago police are warning users of the CTA Brown Line to be alert after two robberies in the Loop.

In the robberies, two or three offenders approached victims while riding a Brown Line train and took property by force. The offenders then fled on foot or by train.

Police said in the second incident, the offenders were armed with a firearm.

The robberies took place:

• Shortly before 9:20 p.m. Sept. 4 on the first block of North Wabash Avenue
• Shortly after 9:25 p.m. Sunday on the 200 block of Wells Street.

Two of the offenders were described as Black males and wearing black face masks. One of them wore a black hooded sweatshirt, , blue jeans, black shoes and a black backpack. The other wore a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants, white shoes and a large yellow chain and medallion necklace.

The third offender was described as a white female wearing a gray T-shirt and a black backpack.

Police advised CTA riders to:

• Always be aware of their surroundings.
• Immediately report any suspicious activity.
• Remain calm, if contronted by an assailant.
• Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth), if robbed.
• Never pursue fleeing assailant. Provide the information to police.
• If vido surveillance is available, save a copy of the incident for detectives.
• If approached by a witness, request contact information.
• Immediately dial 911 and remain on the scene, when possible.
• Remember the train or bus number on which the incident occurred.
