Redbirds' Jordan Named 2025 MVC Indoor Women's Assistant Coach of the Year

SAINT LOUIS, Mo. –  Illinois State track & field associate head coach DeShaun Jordan has been named the 2025 Missouri Valley Conference Women’s Indoor Assistant Coach of the Year, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon following a vote by the league’s head coaches.

Jordan receives the honor for the first time in his career and marks the second consecutive year he has earned an award after he received the 2024 Men’s MVC Indoor Assistant Coach of the Year following the 2024 MVC Indoor Championships.

Earlier this month, at the 2025 MVC Indoor Track & Field Championships, Jordan coached 15 Redbird student-athletes to score points on 29 occasions. Jordan guided the women’s squad to 53 total points (eight different student-athletes scored) and two individual conference titles at the MVC Championships.

Jordan also led junior Lindsey Miller to an MVC Women’s Most Valuable Athlete Award over the championship weekend. Miller earned the honor after claiming the 60m dash and 200m dash MVC titles, along with scoring points as a member of the Redbirds’ 4x400m relay team.

The Redbird track & field teams will return to action for the beginning of the outdoor season March 28-29, when they host the Redbird Challenge in Normal as well as travel to the WashU Distance Festival in St. Louis, Missouri.
