At the Tribeca branch of Australian coffee shop Toby’s Estate, a post-pilates/pre-playdate crowd lines up for matcha americanos, single-origin espresso, and croissants displayed on mirrored pedestals. It’s a bit of a scene, with plenty of seating, a beige color scheme, and surprisingly decent food for such a casual spot. Grab a table in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows, and enjoy some chunky shakshuka or a pair of poached eggs in a puddle of labne. Just keep in mind, laptops aren’t allowed in the dining area. If you need some entertainment, you can either grab a book off the wall or count the number of people dressed in Alo sweats. That should keep you busy.
