Uncle Roger’s in Crown Heights has everything you’d ever want in a bar, all in one place. There are multiple TVs, a deer head mounted on the wall, a pool table, a huge backyard, and a disco ball right across from the kitchen, where the Lacey Burger team is cranking out smashburgers and chopped cheese fries. (We haven’t seen anyone dancing under said disco ball yet, but you could be the person that changes the game for good.) It’s not a place to seek out for its cocktails—every one we’ve tried we’ve ended up wishing was beer—it’s just a big, vaguely retro bar named for the owner’s uncle, where 12 of your nearest and dearest could show up on a Friday night and nobody would care. If you like places like Carousel or Do Or Dive, you’ll love it here. And if you like those places and also live in Crown Heights, you might love it here so much that you never go to those bars ever again.
