Women's Tennis Compete at the 2025 ITA Midwest Regionals



CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Chicago State University women’s tennis team hit the courts over the last few days down in Champaign, at the 2025 ITA Midwest Regional hosted by University of Illinois. The Cougars were represented by Camila Sanchez, Karolina Skowronska, Mackenzie King, Danina Hughes, and Nikita Liyanage

Camila Sanchez was the lone Cougar selected into the Singles main draw. Karolina Skowronska took part in the singles qualifying draw and was also paired her doubles partner Mackenzie King in the main draw doubles. The duo of Danina Hughes and Nikita Liyanage also were selected to the doubles main draw. The Cougars battled to the best of their ability against the very best in the Midwest.

Alice Xu/Tess Bucher (Illinois) def. Karolina Skowronska/Mackenzie King (CSU) 8-2

Jenna Horne/Lucia Yecora (Northern Illinois) def. Danina Hughes/Nikita Liyanage (CSU) 8-5

UP NEXT

The Cougars women’s tennis team will return to the court from October 31 through November 2 as they travel to DeKalb, Illinois to take part in the NIU Huskie Indoor Invitational on the campus of Northern Illinois University.
