Bison win thrilling St. Patrick's themed game over Tulsa



BLOOMINGTON, Illinois (WMBD) – The Bloomington Bison took down the Tulsa Oilers 6-3 in a thrilling and intense matchup at Grossinger Motors Arena Saturday night.

The Bison struck in less than four minutes. After a barrage of shots were stopped, Connor Lockhart finally put one away and a 1-0 lead.

After the Oilers matched it seven minutes later on a power play, the Bison responded in the final 60 seconds of the period. Gavin Gould pulled an eye-popping spin move on a pass to Johnny Evans who shot home the go-ahead goal before intermission and never again surrendered the lead.

Bloomington would score twice in all three periods while the Oilers scored exactly once in each frame.

The game featured almost 20 combined penalties as well between the two squads. The win moves the Bison to 26-28-3-2 with 57 points and are currently tied for 4th in the ECHL’s Central Division.
