Each ingredient in your self-care spa jar adds its own special touch of wellness and relaxation:

  • Pink Himalayan Salt (coarse or fine) – Known for its mineral-rich content, this salt helps draw out toxins, leaving skin feeling soft and refreshed. It works well in soothing bath soaks.
  • Witch Hazel – A natural astringent, witch hazel calms irritated skin, reduces inflammation, and tones without drying. It’s perfect for refreshing facial sprays.
  • Liquid Coconut or Safflower Oil – Lightweight, nourishing oils that moisturize the skin without clogging pores. They make a great base for DIY perfume.
  • Young Living Cedarwood, Lavender, and Ylang Ylang Essential Oils – This trio creates a deeply calming aromatic blend. Cedarwood grounds the senses, lavender soothes stress and promotes relaxation, and ylang ylang adds a floral, uplifting note that supports emotional balance. DIY Roll on Fragrance Recipe

First, for the roll on fragrance, grab your 10 ml roller bottle, your Ylang Ylang and your Lavender oils and your coconut oil. Add 3 drops of Lavender and 3 drops of Ylang Ylang and then top off your roller with the liquid coconut oil. Pop the roller ball on and you’ve got the roll on fragrance made! It is that simple and this all-natural fragrance is so nice.

Decompressing Bath Soak Recipe

Next for the Spa In A Jar, you will make the decompressing bath soak. In a small bowl, add 1 cup of your pink Himalayan salt and 8 drops of the Lavender oil and 7 drops of the Cedarwood oil. Give a quick stir and then transfer to a small plastic bag (you can use a ziplock baggie, just cut the zipper part off and tie the top of the bag with a pretty ribbon or fancy string).
To use, simply add 1/4 to 1/2 cup to warm running bath water, soak for 20 minutes, and breathe deeply. It’s the perfect way to unwind, restore, and treat yourself—or someone you love—to a moment of calm.

Relaxing Face Mist Recipe

Lastly, for the relaxing face spray, grab your small spray bottle and add 15 drops of Lavender oil and top the rest off with your witch hazel. Lavender essential oil has a very relaxing aromatherapy effect plus it is great for the skin. Witch hazel is very cooling and has anti-inflammatory properties that make it soothing and clearing for the skin. Be sure to cover the eye area before using the relaxing face mist.

Place your DIY spa items in the mason jar. Then, feel free to add decorative tissue paper or shiny fluff to make it fun and visually aptealing. Finally, put the top on. You’ve got a Spa In A Jar– the perfect DIY Mother’s Day treat! Just add a piece of ribbon and tie a bow for the perfect gift. They are also great for friend’s birthday gifts.
