On Fridays, we’ll spotlight the men and women serving up cold ones and conversation in our neck of the woods. Let us know about your favorite bartender by emailing ltaylor@news-gazette.com.

If you spot a “dirty landscaper” at It’ll Do in Arthur, it’s probably Halloween. Or it’s bartender JEREMY FLYNN after a long day at his other job.

Flynn is a busy guy between his job landscaping, serving up drinks, spending time with his family and woodworking; right now, he’s building a cabinet set as part of remodeling his home.

His advice for getting everything done: Make a list.

“You do one item a day. I don’t care if it’s the smallest item in the world, and it takes five minutes, and you could do ten items in that day,” Flynn said. “Don’t stress yourself out over it. Just do one item a day, and before you know it, you’ll be done.”

Maybe that’s how he found time for that “dirty landscaper” costume featuring what he politely called some “profound words.”

That Halloween party, which also featured Cheech and Chong, Mario and Luigi and more, was one of Flynn’s favorite memories at It’ll Do.

On a regular day, he says the best part of bartending is “really just getting to know people, talking to people, getting to be friendly with people and having interactions with people.”

Flynn said It’ll Do is the place to be because of the great community of regulars and the town where it’s located.

“I always tell people, if you want to come to a nice, quiet place where you can get away from all the crazy stuff, Arthur, Illinois, is the place to go,” Flynn said.
